How do I insert a delta (triangle) and a degree sign?

I would like to know how to get science and math symbols such as "delta" and "degree" so I can use them in my answers here. Is there anyone out there who can explain this to me in very simple terms? My computer IQ is very low.

Answer:
There doesn't seem to be a code for 'Delta'.
Copy the following symbol (highlite it and copy), and paste it into a document where you can copy it from as much as you like and past it into 'Answers'.

Delta... Δ
Degree sign °

press and hold alt and 0176 (i had the use the number pad numbers, not the ones over the letters)

Delta: I could only find it in the symbols chart on ms works and there's no keyboard shortcut for it. When I copied and pasted it here, it changed it into a "D" So, no luck on that one.
Click on Start<Run and type 'charmap' (no quotation marks)

Then scroll through to find any symbol you want.

Click on advanced and search for degree to get the degrees : °

Search for delta to get delta: Δ
