NH3 +H2O  NH4OH

2. What type of reaction always has an element and a compound as reactants?

3. Comparing concepts: Compare synthesis and decomposing reactions.

i have no idea what these are. please help?

Answer:
1. The first one is a double decomposition reaction.
The second one is a combination reaction.

2. Displacement reactions.

3. synthesis reaction : 2 or more than 2 reactants give the single product.
decomposing reaction : The single product decomposes to give 2 or more products.

Example
Synthesis reaction : 2Na + Cl2 ----> 2NaCl
Decompostion reaction : HgS ----> Hg + S
