i think that law uses proven principle
that is many experiments have been done and all proved that the law applies
a principle is something that you think is very important. you will noly act against a principle if something extraordinary forces you to do so.
eating humans for example. most people would never do so. but when stradned after an airplanecrash in the mountains, you might start to think differently after 40-50 days without food.
a law has two meanings, a rule set by a government that is not to be broken without penalty. or in science a rule set by the universe that is impossible to break.
law is not always a principle...
