How can I convert mEq Na+ to teaspoons of salt?

I have low blood volume and difficulty keeping my blood pressure high enough. (I moved across the country and am not in touch with the doctor who diagnosed me.) Drinking salt water helps, but I'm not sure how much salt to use. I've read that 200-300 mEq Na+/day is recommended. How much is that in terms of table salt, measured by volume?

Salt tablets are very expensive; table salt is very cheap.

I would say ask a doctor. it's your health, don't put it in the hands of the Global Community.
