How do you create oxygen from carbon dioxide?

What triggers the carbon atoms from carbon dioxide to seperate and create oxygen?, how much kithetic energy is required? and what form of kithetic energy is used?

Answer:
Photosynthesis is a natural way of making carbon dioxide into oxygen, but it still is mostly a mystery to science. It takes massive amount of energy to convert CO2 to O2 without photosynthesis, but scientists are working on it. It has to do with sheets of nitrogen molecules, and things along those lines. Synthetic photosynthesis is still a work in progress. Google it and see if you can find a news article about it. That is where i read it.
Photosynthesis Process produces O2 , consuming CO2
Photosynthesis: the bonding together of CO2 (carbon dioxide) with H2O (water) to make CH2O (sugar) and O2 (oxygen), using the sun's energy. The sugar contains the stored energy and serves as the raw material from which other compounds are made...
X-rays will do it.
