Carboxylic acids?

While checking given compound as carboxylic acid we react it with NaHCO3 and we get effervescence of CO2.Can not we use Na2CO3 for this test ?

Answer:
You will get some effervescence with Na2CO3 but not as much as with NaHCO3
drochem is correct, if u use Na2CO3 in place of NaHCO3 , the effervescence of CO2 will not be sufficient.
