Question on Dillution?

If 500 grams of water is added to 75 grams of 25% NaCl solution, what is the percent by mass of NaCl in the diluted solution?

Answer:
75*0.25 = mass of NaCl in the first solution

=18.75 g

after dilution what will be the total weight
75+500 = 575

now how can u calculate the mass percent?

18.75 g NaCl / 575 g Sol = 0.033 * 100% = 3.3%
75g on Nacl 25% contain 75*25/100 =18.75g on NaCL in a solution of 500+75 =575g

so the % is 18.75*100/575 =3.26% mass of NaCl
12.5 %
