how does alkaline hydrolisis affect an acrylic resin - ie a concrete wall with a pH reading over 11, painted over with a copolymer of polystyrene and methyl methacrylate?
Answer:
At a high pH the methyl methacrylate could hydrolyze to the carboxylic acid. But being a copolymer on concrete I would not think much hydrolysis would occur at least not a very fast rate.
