Why does Chromatographs of sequenced DNA usually has broad peaks in the begining?

is it because it is hard to sequence when there is only a base pairs?

Answer:
Usually the beginning and the end of the sequence is pretty bad. The middle of the sequence is fine. I beleve I could blame this occurance on an over shot of DNA into the instrument. Try selecting another primer that could cover the beginning and/or the end of the sequence.
good luck.
