Multiple choice need help plz?
A) Solubility of solids and liquids is affected by randomness and temperature.
B)Increasing temperature and lowering pressure maximizes the solubility of a gas in a liquid.
C) Energy has no affect on solubility.
D)When a solid dissolves, the attractive forces are weakened, and entropy decreases.
Answer:
The answer is A.
B is incorrect because liquids are better able to dissolve gases at lower temperatures and higher pressures (example, coke bottle, heat it up and see what happens)
C is incorrect because heat is a form of energy and has EVERYTHING to do with solubility
D is incorrect because as a solid dissolves, the ordered crystal structure is destroyed and entropy is increased.
A
C
b
You should have studied, kiddo.
I say that B is false, because an increase in temperature helps cause the gas phase. Think about it, when you boil water do you get more liquid or steam? Steam (gas) is the answer. So that is false. Atleast you have narrowed it down some. Good luck!
Good Luck
The answer is C. Think about it if you heat a solution(add energy) of lets say salt and water, it will dissolve faster and more will dissolve.
