I accidentally spilled some pool shock (sodium hydrochlorite) in the carpet of my car. How long will it take for the chlorine agent to dissipate and is there anything that can be done to expediate the process? Thanks
Answer:
NaOCl can leave a pretty nasty smell for a long time. wash well with water, actually some anti-oxidant (reducing agent, if u prefer), like vitamin C might help.
i wouldn't call that chlorine gas, to expedite the process, take a rag and mop it up.
