If a yellow precipitate was obtained with AgNo3, could you conclude that only Br or I is present in d mixture?

Yes, would be able to say that you had either Bromide or Iodide, but you wouldn't know which one, since both AgBr, and AgI are both yellow.
AgBr - pale yellow

the yelow would be from the iodine. Bromine USUALLY turn things brown.
AgBr and AgI are both light yellow and both would precipitate out of the solution.
