Wht r all physical and chemical properties of elements & how do they differ down the group & across the period
in order to avoid any confusion,,
and also plss state if there r any exceptions plss,,
thanx,,
Answer:
I suggest you do a search for the periodic table. The answers you request are too long and involved for someone to type here.
Try this one:
http://chemistry.about.com/od/periodicta...
see physical properties r those for which you do not need to go to a laboratory for example taste of element its color its smell its melting point boiling point etc
considering the chemical properties these r those for which u definitely have to go to a laboratory for example reaction of carbon element with oxygen nitrogen etc. so chemical properties contain reactions unlike physical hope it is clear
trend in period and groups can be understand by this
like down the group electronegativity decreases so u can say the element is less reactive .In period from left to right it increases so u can say element is more reactive ,. think it wil give u a guide linee
I answer a lot of questions out here, but this is a large answer. You would do best to start researching each group. You will find that physical and chemical properties are similar in a group and different across a period. Good luck.
