Are batteries examples of galvanic cells?

Answer:
Dry cells or wet cells are galvanic cells.

Car batteries are accumulators (not batteries), as they do not produce electricity of their own when built; they have to be charged up to store electricity for later use.

Dry cells are spent when discharge is complete. Wet cells may be able to be recharged, if the raw materials are available.

Rechargeable batteries - may well be galvanic. They are certainly accumulators; but new ones are able to supply some electricity in a galvanic process before they get charged up.
