Help me with the chemical equation?

one of the mineral is chalococite (CuFeS2) and can be changed into native copper (Cu). However, it takes a lot of oxygen gas, calculate the volume of oxygen gas at 1 atmosphere pressure necessary to convert 1 ton of ore containing 1.25% Cu in the form of chalococite (CuFeS2) to native copper. This part of the extraction is done at 400 degree Celcius.

(Greatly appreciated if you could tell me the steps you took)

Answer:
My approach would be as follows:

First you need a balanced chemical reaction. I don't know this reaction, but I would guess that the O2 combines with the mineral and forms Cu, Fe2(SO4)3 and SO2

So the reaction could be

2CuFeS2 + 7O2 == 2Cu + Fe2(SO4)3 +SO2

Now do some stoichiometry

1 ton of ore = 1,000 kg, and contains 12.5 kg Cu = 12,500 gr.

Divide by the molecular mass of Cu and you have moles. Multiply by the molar ratio involvinfg O2 to get moles of O2.

At STP, convert the moles of O2 to liters using 22.4 liters per mole. Now adjust to the conditions of 1 atm and 400 oC and you have the actual volume of O2.
