Spectroscopy, how do you convert from specific extinction coefficient to specific absorption coefficient?

Specific extinction coefficient is given as l g-1 cm-1 and the absorption coefficient as m2 mg-1

Answer:
1000*1000cm^3*mg^-1*cm^-1 = 10^6cm^2mg^-1

1m^2 = 100*100 = 10^4cm^2

and so: 100m^2mg^-1

So multiply the specific extinction co-efficient by the dimensionless number 100
