Easy question?

if given the eletron configuration of an element is 2.3!! this element belong to group 3 or 13?
the answer i think is group 13...but WHY??

because u think so, therefor it is correct.

now seriously, there are lots of ways to do this. simplest would be to see that element N5 (3+2 electrons=5) Boron, is in group 13. u can argue as well, that since the 1s and 2s electron shell are full, the next to be filled in is 2p, so therefor the element cannot be in group 3-12, for they are all d-elements.
