Can you use sodium sulfate and water instead of just sulfuric acid in a car battery?

Answer:
Sodium sulfate is essentially sulfuric acid that has been completely neutrilized with sodium hydroxide

2 NaOH + H2SO4 > Na2SO4 + 2 H2O

It definately won't work
nope. The chemical reaction is different and ineffective to produce a current
The Sulfuric acid is needed for the H+ in order to create an acidic medium in order for the lead to change oxidation states to create a current.
