Is Br2 a stronger oxidizing agent than l2?

Is Mg a stronger reduccing agent than Zn?
Is Fe a stronger reducing agent than Cu?

Answer:
About Br2 vs I2, based simply on the fact that these two are of the same group in the periodic table (halogens), and the trend for halogens is of decreasing electronegativity as you go down the group, and since oxidizing agents are electron-grabbers (directly related to electronegativity), it's a good guess that Br2 (the higher one on the table) is a stronger oxidizer than I2. In fact, any halogen X2 will rip off electrons from a salt of any halogen below it.

The rest, you really have to look up in a table of reduction potentials. The higher the reduction potential, the stronger the reducing agent. See http://members.aol.com/logan20/red_tabl.
