Help with chemistry!!??
*******For these types of equations i usually use formulas like PV=NRT or P1V1/P2V2, but i'm not sure what equation is neccesary for this problem*******
please help, thx
Answer:
In this case you have to use
pV = nRT
p = nRT / V = 4.50 x 0.0821 x 298 / 34.6 L = 3.18 atm
The other equation nemed combined gas law can be used when a gas decreases ( or increases ) its pressure , its volume and its temperature. It is :
p1V1 /T1 = p2V2/ T2
Example :
p1 = 2 atm
p2 = 3 atm
V1 = 1 L
V2 = ?
T1 = 300 K
T2 = 350 K
in this case
2 x 1 / 300 = 3 x V2 / 359
Solve for V2

I would GOOGLE each of those formulas seperately, and find specific application for each if you are not sure which one to use. You should find sites that will explain application of the formula in detail.
its so simple my friend
you must use the first, PV=nRT because you dont have initial and final pressure values, or initial and final pressure values, so applying the first one you wil have
pV=nRT
P= nRT/V
P= 4.50 mol (0.0821L.atm/K.mol)(298K) / 34.6L
finnally
P= 3.18 atm
I don't see the problem.. you have n, you have V and T... why can't you solve for P?
did you use the right value of R? they have different ones depending on whether you use Pa or PSI.. the universal gas law constant is 8.3145 but that's if you are measuring in cubic meters, Pascals and Kelvin.
