very difficult question may be 4 oh the numbers are so confusing...lol
what is...4+4?
I think is four.but on the save side...I will go consult my math's professor before confirming it...ok??
The correct answer to this question is "4" but I wonder why you should ask such a trivial question and waste your 5 points? Surely you have something more important to do with your life. Can you answer my question?..What is the weight of the planet "EARTH"? Dont go looking for scales now..there aint a big enough one to do the job.

A cycloaddition is a reaction that forms a cyclic product. A [2+2] cycloaddition is a type of pericyclic reaction where 2 separate pi bonds react to form a cyclic product that contains 4 sigma bonds (2pi + 2pi ----> 4sigma). This is usually a photochemical reaction. I am using square brackets to note the number of electrons. In other words, 2 electrons react with another 2 electrons. Using parentheses instead of brackets, a (2+2) cycloaddition says that 2 atoms react with another 2 atoms to form a 4-membered cyclic product.

example: ethylene + ethylene ---> cyclobutane

For comparison, a [4+2] is called a "Diels-Alder" reaction. Here 4 pi bonds react with another 1 pi bond to form 1 pi bond plus 6 sigma bonds, or 3pi + 1pi ---> 1pi + 6s. This is usually a thermal reaction. A (4+2) says that 4 atoms react with another 2 atoms to form a 6-membered cyclic product.

example: butadiene + ethylene ----> cyclohexene

There are also [3+2] cycloadditions.
