What is acid like?
pleae explain ur experiances or whatever u know about it.
just curious.
thanks everyone
Answer:
we say at a compound that it is an acid when we put it in water if the resultant is hydrogen proton then it is an acid if the resultant is oH Then it is an base say if we put NAOH (Sodium hydroxide)in water it will ionizes into NA+ and OH-
here we see that the resultant is OH- s0 it is an base not acid say if we put HCL in water the resultant is H+ and CL- we see that H+ is the resultant s0 it is an acid and the whole formula we can say
M
+/ \+
+/ \-
H + - 0
m is the metal if the metal and oxgyen compined together then the bond between hydrogen and oxgyen will be brokened and the result will be (MO+H) in here we see hydrogen is al0ne not combined to any atom so this is acid .
any substances that produce H+ ion in a solution are acids.
A binary compound of H with a more electronegative element can act as a binary acid, when in water sol.
