Mercury extraction?

how to extract mercury from fluorescent lights, i need mercury for an expiriment, i dont want your thats very dangerous crap, i just need to know how, and about the thats dangerous crap, half the chemists on yarhoo answers dispise you, so sites and extraction methods would be nice.

The volume of mercury in a fluorescent tube is pretty small, you'd need a lot of tubes, and would generate a lot of contaminated scrap just to obtain dirty mercury. If you have a legitimate use for it I suspect you could buy some, no doubt you;d have to sign some forms and what not, but I'll bet it could be done. BTW, you might want to not be such a butt head when dealing suppliers and, especially, any regulatory authorities.
The mercury in fluorescent tubes is present in miunte quantities. It can be extracted electrolytically.
