Does soda water make your stomach explode?
I heard that that is what killed my greatgrandfather
Answer:
No. Carbonated water(soda water) forms a harmless reaction with stomach acid(hydrochloric acid--dilute), which just cause an abundance of Carbon dioxide. Hence: all the belching and excess body gas
no... they lied.
was your great-grandpa a seagull? that doesn't work on humans.
No, of course not. The natural acid in your stomach is stronger and more volatile than soda water.
sorry, all you get is a-lot of burping, as far as killing your granddad it may have come from blockage of an escaping air bubble,ie; burp.
You are serious, right? I'm pretty sure that your great grandfather's stomach did not explode; BUT, there is a ridiculously high sugar content in carbonated soft drinks! There is a very real possibility that your great grandfather contracted diabetes from drinking way to many soft drinks and had adverse health conditions as a result. That was certainly the case with my grandfather.
