How will my science fiar project be beneficial for the people?
THE EFFECT OF DIFFERENT SOLUTES ON THE TEMPERATURE OF BOILING WATER.
i have succesfully got the readings of 6 solutes that i had chosen. however i am now confused as i have no clue how my science project will even be remotely helpful to people.
Answer:
one possible point is the temperature required to kill germs. Cooking is done to kill potential bacteria and parasites that might be in the food. different things die at different temperatures, or more importantly don't die even when exposed to boiling water for some time. if the 'germ' would die at a somewhat higher temperature, you can decide which solutes to add to the water to make sure the temperature is high enough.
this is especially true in higher elevations where water boils at a lower temperature.
Have you even talked with your teacher or friends before embarking on this thing ? Did you take it up because it was too easy or because you wanted to be a hotshot ?
When you think about how it affect the temperature of water, think about things that boiling water is used for. For example, in cooking, if you add a little salt to the water, it will get hotter than 100 degrees C and still be in a liquid state, which is good for cooking your foods faster.
What else can you use boiling water that is hotter than 100 degrees Celsius for?
