How does acid react in water?

Answer:
Acid dissolves in water very rapidly, splashing and boiling. Always add acid to water and not the other way around to avoid injury. Pour concentrated acid down a stirring rod while stirring. The dissolving reaction is very exothermic. It can cause glass to break.
It dissociates into H+ ions and the conjugate base
dangeresly if the acid is concentrated
if you add water to a strong acid an exothermic reaction occurs and enough heat could be created to cause an explosion
that is why it is very important that when diluting an acid you add the acid to water so no uncontrollable reaction occurs
