I am working on a project which aims to tackle the environmental problem of increasing carbon dioxide emissions, by converting carbon dioxide into other less harmful products (such as oxygen and carbon) Is there a way to achieve this? If not, other alternatives with different catalysts and products are also welcomed.
Answer:
the most thing i know tht can be done is....
CO2 + C ----------------> 2CO
CO2 + Fe ---------------> FeO + CO
CO2 + 2NaOH --------> Na2CO3 + H2O
i dont think there's any catalyst tht can convert CO2 into carbon and oxygen.the only way tht can be done is by heating ,i think
I am not sure if there is acatalyst that can convert CO2 into C and O2 but it can done by electrolysis
i'm not sure.. maybe it CO2 can only be separated into CO and O2 --carbon monoxide and oxygen?
