A question about percent efficiency?
My teacher told me the formula is Actual/Theo x 100 which makes it 0.14/0.1 x 100 = 140 % efficiency.
But 140 % efficiency doesn't sound right to me.
Can anyone tell me the actual formula for % efficiency because I don't know how to explain this.
Answer:
Reaction percent yield is not relevant in a titration like this. The whole point of a titration reaction is that it is complete. Sounds like your teacher said the first thing they could think of so that you'd go away.
Here are the facts. You needed more KHP than you were supposed to need, which is why you calculated a higher concentration of NaOH than the "right" answer. I cannot explain why that might be. You should think step-by-step through what you did to try to find your procedural error.
