My gold rings turning into silver?

I have been married for 11 years and have worn my solid gold engagement and wedding ring continuously. I woke up one morning to find both of my rings had turned to silver. This is not a hoax, it is true. I have had no cemicals near them and I've always worn the same branded rubber gloves. The only thing that is different was that I started taking the Yasmin (birth control pill) a week ago. The color is a dull silver like they've come out of a christmas cracker. I've kept them off my finger for 2 days now and the colour is now a horrid copper. May be they'll turn back to gold I don't know but can anybody explain. And please no pathetic answers.

Answer:
are u sure that u havent come across with chemicals such as mercury by accident.did any thermometer break?

as it is turning back its color, for more quicker result ,expose ur ornament to atmospheric oxygen(open air).wot ever chemical is on it will be oxidised.
I very quickly learned to take my wedding ring off whenever I was demonstrating chlorine gas to my pupils. Yes - it went dull copper-coloured, but the gold colour quickly returned. Rest assured that the gold part of your rings are unaffected, and its only the metals that are alloyed with the gold - copper and or silver. The colour will come back!
My immediate suspicion would be that the ring was gold plated and not solid gold. I don't know anything about the Yasmin birth control pill or how they could effect your body chemistry, but I would suspect you have done more in the past week than pop pills.
Try cleaning them in jewelery cleaner- have you used any sunless tanning lotion applying it with the rings on your fingers? Something interacted- try dipping them in jewelry cleaner- whatever has effected them, you should remove it asap-
