Percentage of??

how do i calculate the percentage of calcium in calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)2)

Answer:
Molar mass = 40 + 16 + 16 + 1 + 1 = 74 g/mol
40 ( mass Ca) : 74 = x : 100
x = 54.0 % ( percentage of Ca in Ca(OH)2
Add up the weight Ca + 2O + 2H (40 + 32 + 2= 74) and then put how much calcium weighs (40) and divide by total (74) times 100!!
