"Answer the following questions for 10 molecules ammonia gas decomposing to form hydrogen and nitrogen gases. Give the exact answers (no units)."
How many molecules of hydrogen are formed?
How many molecules of nitrogen are formed?
Answer:
the eq will be:
2NH3 ------. N2 + 3H2
So ratio of NH3 : N2 = 2:1
and that of NH3 : H2 = 2:3
so molecules of N2 = 10/2
= 5 molecules
and molecules of H2 = 10 x 3 /2
= 15 molecules
15 Hydrogen and 5 nitrogen molecules.
