Does the first appearance of the white smoke indicate the first contact of the NH3 and HCl molecules?? explain your answer. If the answer is "no", how will this affect the calculated value of the molecular weight oh HCl?
this problem came from NH3(g)+HCl(g)= NH4Cl(s) reaction
we used tube and two corks which have holes drilled into tube and looking for white ring (smoke) thank u for ur help!
Answer:
Molecular weight CH4 = 16 g/mol
Molecular weight C4H8 = 56 g/mol
d (CH4) / d ( C4H8 ) = square root (56 / 16) = 1.87
CH4 has a speed 1.87 more than C4H8
CH4 will meet C4H8 at 32.5 cm
