What is a compounds?

Answer:
A chemical compound is a chemical substance of two or more different chemically bonded chemical elements, with a fixed ratio determining the composition.
A chemical compound is a chemical substance composed from more than one chemical element. The two or more elements must be present in a fixed ratio. The bonds between atoms of various elements may be covalent or ionic, and covalently bonded atoms form a molecule. There is no such thing as an atom of a compound.
compound = element + different element/compound (very general)
As opposed to Mixtures, Compounds are formed from a chemical combination of two or more Pure Elements and can only be separated by chemical means.
Compounds have a fixed composition and their Properties are completely different from those of the elements of which they're composed.
During their formation, Heat is given out (Exothermic) or taken in (Endothermic).
Typical examples: Pure water (H2O), Pure Sodium Chloride (Common Salt) (NaCl), Pure Methane (CH4).
Compounds are homogeneous mixtures.
