plenty of organic compunds (carbon-hydrogen containig)compunds are far more than inorganic ones like silica,oxygen etc
it means carbon compounds are more in number and carbon is the only element which has got the ability to form the such huge compounds.reason if u ask.tetravalent,and catenation-which means ability to form self linkages.
