What is the pH value of ethyl alcohol?

I NEED TO TEST AN ETHYL ALCOHOL...WHETHER IT IS AN ALCOHOL OR NOT.. PLS HELP ME...

Answer:
Its Ka is 1.26E-16. So, you should expect a pH of about 8.0±0.5. I don't know to what extent CO2 is soluble in ethanol, but it will lower the pH considerably (3 pH units) if it's anything like water. To get a true value, you would need to boil the ethanol for 15-30 minutes, tightly close the container, let it cool and then measure pH.
