Can ordinary filter paper be used in volatile suspended solid test?

no, it needs to be either sintered glass, fritted glass or glass fiber filter paper. typically 0.45 um pore size
That sounds like an ASTM method. It's not going to be certifiable as ASTM unless you use the type of filter paper that they specify.
