Why is Mg stronger than Zn? Why is Cu stronger than Fe?

Answer:
It is because of the way their molecules are bonded together
from the periodic table, the strength decreases from top to bottom the => Mg > Zn
and Cu is not stronger than Fe, and in the same row, the strength decreases from left to right => Fe > Cu ... in the single substitute reaction, Fe reacts with Cu compunds yields Cu and other Fe compound
