Are the followind acids or base: Hydrogen peroxide, Saline solution, and Pepto-Bismol? Please and thank you?

Also I going to need the ph level of each or what color it turns when red cabbage indicator is added.

Answer:
Rebecca,

Hydrogen peroxide is amphoteric just like water (meaning that it can behave as an acid or a base depending on its surroundings). Saline solution is just salt water with other possible components, and it is neither acidic nor basic. Pepto-bismol is going to be somewhat basic, because part of its job is to neutralize stomach acid. The pH of both hydrogen peroxide and saline solution will be roughly 7, but this is only approximate because it depends on what the dissociation constant of H2O2 is, and what other components may or may not be in the saline solution. I have no idea what the pH of Pepto-bismol is, and I would think you will have a hard time finding that information unless you measure it yourself.
i don't think we should be doing your homework for you.
You can definitely look up the pH of these things online. Google isn't the best tool but it isn't the worst. Once you have the pH you can say whether it acidic or basic and what the cabbage indicator will do (assuming you know how the indicator works in acids and bases to begin with...which you could probably also Google)
Saline solution is a combination of an acid HCl and a base NaOH so it was both before a reaction takes place to make them niether just plan salt an water.
Pepto-Bismol is taken to relief excess acidity in the stomach (heart burn) so it contans a base that neutralizes acidity (find out the base from the label on a bottle of pepto, it is the ingreadiant ending in OH) and last, Hydrogen Peroxide is H2O2 or 2 OH- molecules which is what most bases contain.
