Ionization energy- please help?

im reviewing chem in this book right now

there's a question that asks about the ion. energies of C and Cl
it says that C has greater 1st ion. energy

but according to other charts online (such as wikipedia), numbered values show that chlorine actually has the higher 1st ionization energy

am i wack or did the book just have a typo??

Answer:
As we move from left to right across a perodic table the effective nuclear charge increases . so as ionization potential is directly propotional to effective nuclear charge the ionization potential of C should be less than that of Cl which is the case .so definitely the book is wrong.
C - 11.26030 eV

Cl - 12.96764 eV

Your book has a typo
clorine will have a higher ionization energy (C - 11.26 eV, Cl - 12.97). The book is wrong, or just simply relies on a bad source of information
