How would you sparate the solute ad solvent of a solution?

Answer:
i would do this by
1)evapouration
2)distillation
3)filtration
4)fractional distillation
5)chromatography
it varies from solution to solution
One way is to introduce a catalyst to start the process of precipitation.

EDIT: Err duh, I'm not a chemist, but now I remember precipitation is for suspensions and not solutions I think. So sorry :)
Ikenna is correct - and very thorough/complete answer
If you had lets say a solution of salt in water. You would simply distill the solution to remove the water and you would be left with salt crystals.
