I am going to give a 5-10min informative speech on amino acids to my class, they are all about 20 years old, and have some but not much background on chemistry(for example I think they know what a carbon atom is, and bondings between atoms). So I think i should just briefly talk about the general structure of the amino acids, and focus more on their impact on our lives, but I am having trouble finding enough information for the impact of amino aicds on us except that they make proteins and the fact that some are involve in our metabolic pathway. Can anyone please tell me more about amino acids? or any idea for what else can I talk about amino acid?

the site i've included below has many other properties of an amino acid. but i think talking about amino acid forming zwitterions would be the most interesting and easily understood. you can easily stretch a few minutes for the uses of buffers alone.
I always see way too much information on those amino acid supplement bottles. So go to maybe your nearest drug store and check out the brochures, there are always brochures.
More material is at the gym, they want you to see all those benefits of the amino's.
