How could you separate a mixture of gravel and sand?
Answer:
Technically use the sieve analysis, commonly known as the "gradation test" is a basic essential test for all
aggregate technicians. The sieve analysis determines the gradation (the distribution of aggregate
particles, by size, within a given sample) in order to determine compliance with design,
production control requirements, and verification specifications.
or if you mean just to separate only the gravel and sand alone:
soak the mixture in water provided that you put a screen(the hole size of the screen must small enough not to allow the maximum size of gravel you want to remain), then shake it again and again until you notice only the gravel are remain in the screen and the sand in the water.
shaker table
mm what are those things called? like a screen in a frame, and you could pour the stuff onto it a bit at a time and shake it, and the sand would fall through and the gravel would stay on top? like a filter, kind of?
Use a sieve with holes only big enough for the sand to pass through and pour the mixture into the sieve..shake it until the sand is removed.
Or you could try wiggling your ears like Samantha did on that tv show Bewitched...might work.
You would get a molecular sieve that would allow the sand to flow through but not the gravel. Then place the mixture on the sieve, shake and all of the gravel will be caught in the sieve and the sand would fall right through.
