Battery experiment - If I can't find zinc, which will act as my electrode, can I use a galvanized product?

Answer:
not really - the purpose of the galcavanized part is to prevent the corrosion from happening. So it won't work well. Galvanization works also as a sacrificial anode, it sacrifices itself, but it doesn't do so very well.

All you need are two different metals: copper and aluminum should be easy to get.
