Cyclopropanation of cyclohexane, for example with CH2I2 and zinc-copper couple (the "Simmons-Smith" reaction).

This reagent forms a metal-stabilized carbene (:CH2) which adds to the double bond to form the three-membered ring directly. The exact nature of the carbene intermediate is not completely established, but it is believed to be something like I-Zn-CH2-I. Copper activates the zinc, but you can activate it also by ultrasound.
