Chemistry seems like a very exciting and interesting course of study?
Which was your hardest course (it varies, I understand) and why? Graduate and undergraduate courses.
Answer:
Organic chemistry is the hardest course i have taken thus far. Although looking ahead to my upcomming year quantum may be hard.
Organic is considered one of the hardest classes one will take as a chemistry class. There is an extensive ammount of information to memorize and comprehend and many of the ideas are a little strange for example:
Currently we have to have memorized over 120 reactions and the mechanisms for these reactions.
Also many people have trouble understanding some the antibonding theories.
Quantum chemistry is also extremly difficult, it gets into information that is very abstract and difficult to understand.
Hope this helps. Although chemistry is very difficult it is quite interesting i encourage you to pursue this field. Perhaps you may be more interested in chemical engineering. This is actually where the up and comming jobs will be so it may be a course of study you wish to pursue.
uuuuck chemistry i am trying to learn some to help with a biology degree and me no like
Ligand field theory was the toughest for me, probably because my math skills were not so good back then. I'd suggest taking a linear algebra class as an undergrad if you have the opportunity.
My hardest courses was organic chemistry simply because we started working with synthesizing organic compounds, which is hard, but still reasonable. Graduate level courses tend to be easier than undergraduate due to specialization and different expectations (sometimes harder, sometimes easier).
In general, the more broad the chemistry class, the harder it is.
