i closed the foil and then came a foul rotten egg smell, and was told to open the foil after it got really hot, they said it was the bad spirit/spell leaving my body, but i kinda think its was some kind of science project, does anybody know what could have been mixed with the salt to create this obscene reaction?

That has to be hydrogen sulphide being generated. You could do it with calcium(II) sulphide, magnesium(II) chloride and adding water would do the trick and it would get hot.
*WARNING*. H2S is similar in toxicity to cyanide so you don't really want to mess with it.
