Chem lab safety?

What should be done if

1. you pour acid or base on your body or clothing
2. you cause a fire in the lab
e. you get chemical in your eyes
f. you spill a large quantity of chemical liquid in the lab

Answer:
1. neutralize it with a weak base or acid(opposite, then wash with a great deal of water
2.Ring alarm
get everyone out of lab
use extinguisher if it is not too large
3. use eye wash station for 15 minutes
4. notify person in charge
determine if it can be neutralized
determine if it needs a special cleanup
1. You run to the emergency shower and strip (your skin is much more important than a little embarrasement). Stay for 15 minutes.
2. Use a fireblanket and or a fire extinguisher.
3. Run to the eyewash and flush for 15 minutes.
4. Use kitty litter (there's a more expensive product that you can buy but most labs use kitty litter to absorb the chemical)

Hopefull there is someone to help you with each of these tasks, some of them might be impossible if you are the one that's inflicted.

If you are a student, the first (or second step if you need to run to the shower/eyewash) is to tell the instructor. Even if there's a fire, yell for the instructor first.
1.You can produce severe burns in the skin, remove clothing is better, then a shower of emergency, and quite soap, if they become waste, use lemon or acid citrico diluted to remove the skin bases, and sodium bicarbonate to 10%, on the skin, whether it was acid.
2.called immediately to the 911, by precaution, only if a fire minor, then uses the fire extinguisher , and gives the alarm general to help you, to remove the solvents volatiles or explosives the path of fire.
3. in the laboratory there should always be as a measure of urgency, isotonic sterile solution of sodium chloride to 0.9%, several litres, you must uncover your or the closest to you, a liter, and wash your eyes immediately and long time, some 15 minutes at least.
4.You can use several materials: 1. Calcium dioxide if an acid, and catch mask for gases immediately. 2.wood dust crushed, if it is a basis. 3. sand from sea, dry, if it is a solvent dangerous.
5. After cleaning everything with plenty of water and detergent powder
