In the periodic table...Extended Form of thePeriodic Table, why is (H) Hydrogen repeated twice, when everything else is not? 1966 General Chemistry, Dr. John Fabianek.John H.Secrist, Professor of Chemistry, Wayne State University. Is There an answer or a revised Table?
Answer:
it is no repeated twice. since you have a reaaaaalllllllly old periodic table, at that time they weren´t exactly sure whether H should belong to IA group, together with the alkali metals (it has a s1 electron configuration) or in VIIA group, with the halogens (non-metal with only1 electron left to fill it´s shell). and therefore at least one of your hydrogens should be in brackets.
now it´s considered that H belongs to the I group.
