Why normal saline PH is acidic(5.5)?

Answer:
The water will dissolve CO2 which associates with water to make H2CO3 which is acidic.

CO2(g) + H2O (l) ---> H2CO3(aq)

This usually causes water solutions to equilibrate at a pH of 5.5 (limited by the low solubility of CO2 in H2O).
