What is the product when 1 pentanol is oxidized? What about 2 pentanol?

Answer:
1-pentanol will be pentanal (aldehydes)
2-pentanol will be 2-pentanon (ketone)

Oxidation of 1-pentanol is:

CH3-CH2-CH2-CH2-CH2OH + O -->

CH3-CH2-CH2-CH2-CHO + H2O

Oxidation of 2-pentanol is:

CH3-CH2-CH2-CHOH-CH3 + O -->

CH3-CH2-CH2-CO-CH3 + H2O
Alcohal, when oxidized gives Aldehyde and water
So i would assume u'll get 1 pentanal and 2 pentanal.
